My a/c broke the other day (in a heatwave, no less) so I had to find alternate ways of keeping cool. I decided to make smoothies! I was digging in the freezer trying to see what fruit I had, and could only find raspberries (which isn’t the usual fruit I use for smoothies) so that’s how I came up with this refreshing Raspberry Dreams Smoothie! It’s creamy, it’s dreamy, it’s oh so very raspberry-flavoured!
I don’t know why raspberries aren’t in my usual smoothie rotation — they’re such a great flavour addition! I use a combo of bananas and dairy (yoghurt and milk) for the creamy base, but you could easily use coconut yoghurt and soy milk if you wanted to make this smoothie vegan. This quite a healthy smoothie, with no added sugar as the banana is all the sweetener you need. Plus, the raspberries contain a bunch of fibre (who knew?) and the dairy gives you some protein so that the smoothie has staying power.
Not a fan of raspberries? Just substitute in another berry, such as blueberries, strawberries, or even mulberries!
Now, let’s get to making us some creamy, dreamy smoothies!

Next Post: Likely my Garlic Ginger Sesame Broccoli over Cauliflower Rice! Because sometimes a low-carb, veggie-heavy meal is needed to balance out my ice cream consumption!

My daughter, Patsy, loves all kinds of smoothies. We make them similar to this. Often, she uses frozen banana and frozen berries of whatever we have in the house freezer, milk, a little sugar and blends. Or frozen peach slices and milk, blend. I usually add vanilla when I make them.
I’m glad you got cooled off. It’s been so hot lately:)

Vanilla would be a great addition to this smoothie! And her smoothies must taste extra good with all of the raspberries that you grow yourselves! I’m still waiting for my pottted raspberry bush to recover after being eaten by a squirrel last year.
